Martin Surilov is on the verge of victory in the 52nd Rally Bulgaria

Martin Surilov and Zdravko Zdravkov (Citroen C3 Rally2) are a step away from victory in the 52nd Rally Bulgaria. The leaders of the race reached today’s midday service with an advantage of almost two minutes over Simone Tempestini and Sergiu Itu (Porsche 997 RGT). Anton Titov and Alexander Spirov (Skoda Fabia R5) are in third place.

“We have slowed down the pace, and we are definitely not very attractive to the audience. It’s not pleasant for us, but we have to do it. We are doing everything possible to protect our lead until the finish,” commented Martin Surilov after the end of today’s morning stages.

The final day began with a stage victory for the second-placed crew in the overall standings from yesterday, Miroslav Angelov and Georgi Gadzhev (Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo). They managed to reduce their gap from 23.7 seconds to 21.4 compared to Surilov and Zdravkov. Unfortunately, in the next special stage, SS9 Yakovtsi, the crew suffered an incident just after the flying finish, which took them out of contention.

This incident helped Simone Tempestini and Anton Titov move up one position each, and at the moment, expectations are that the top three will remain unchanged until the end of the competition.

The fastest crew in the single-axle cars, Nikola Mishev and Petar Sivov (Peugeot 208 Rally4), are in fourth place and are successfully controlling their pace compared to those behind them, Kiril Todorov and Angel Bashkehayov (Peugeot 208 R2).

With 27.48 competitive kilometers remaining in the 52nd Rally Bulgaria, the winners of the competition will soon be determined.
